Our Philosophy
At Impressions Early Education, we believe that every child is unique and deserves to be seen, supported, and guided as an individual, at their own pace. We see our place as a safe core in which each child knows, sees, feels and understands that they are rejoiced, championed and whole heartedly cared and nurtured in. We recognise the great responsibility this carries. Early Education leaves one of the earliest impressions on each child’s learning journey and we honour this responsibility by slowing down, truly listening and authentically responding to each child. We firmly believe each child deserves a champion – someone who is irrationally crazy about them. Someone who celebrates with them at every step, who listens to their voice, who believes in their skills and knows them as truly capable.
We recognise and celebrate the intense love and care each family has for their child, and we cherish this dedication through recognising the family as the child’s first teacher. We understand connection is a child’s deepest need and a parents highest influence (Leila Schott). Honouring this connectedness, through collaboration amongst our Impressions Community, we tailor support and resources to activate each individual child’s natural desire to learn (Maria Montessori). Highlighting our relationships with families, communities and land to form a connected network around all children to support their well-being, belonging and development. Just like Urie Brofenbrenner we echo that our ecological systems do not function in isolation, they influence each other. We are influenced by the immense gratitude the First Nations People share for the land and our country. We value the hundreds and thousands of years of care and respect that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have given to the land, for us to now live, learn and play on. We understand without this nurturing and care, we would not have the same foundations and knowledge of the land as we do today. We respect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s ways of knowing and being with the land, and gently walk alongside them, to preserve our beautiful land for future generations to inherit.
We value the impression the natural world leaves on children, and we encourage children to be their full selves whilst exploring the world around them. We hold space for children to laugh, sing, dance, make mud pies and splash in puddles. We encourage children to explore their “Wildhood” and relish in the openness of exploring the beauty that surrounds them. Every child deserves beauty, both indoors and out, and we place value on providing beautiful environments for children to be immersed in. It is our intention to inspire children to practice the art of gratitude regularly, focusing not only on the positive things that have happened to them, but also the self-gratification of what they have done for others. We believe by ingraining the act of generosity, we can create a new level of gratitude that is felt in self-gratification, which will also nurture a strong positive sense of self in each child. We believe generosity is a milestone to gratitude, empathy and kindness.

Mission Statement
Our Company Philosophy is centered around the recognition that "children learn about themselves and construct their own identity within the context of relationships with other children, their families and communities. This includes their relationships with people, places and things, and the actions and responses of others."
